My personal history of two months of Occupy Gezi as it was published in real time on this blog. It starts at the beginning, it includes a bird’s eye view of the uprising, a description of life in the Taksim Commune, an atlas of occupied Gezi Park, a front line account of clashes with police plus tactical hints on effective urban resistance. In between the lines it places the events in the context of the international movement for direct democracy. After the destruction of the Commune it focuses on the popular forums that sprouted up all over Istanbul and Turkey.
